At 200m tall with 45 storeys, this instantly recognisable skyscraper became the first building in Britain to be sold for more than £1bn, and has served as HSBC’S London headquarters ever since. On this project, our ventilation and ductwork engineers achieved a BREEAM ‘excellent’ rating for sustainability.

Scope

Hotchkiss managed the complete airside installation of the shell and core ductwork systems and a full fit-out of the office and trading floors. This included the supply, delivery and installation of all the ductwork and associated plant and equipment. The scope of works also included ACI panels and associated wiring, complete smoke vent systems for firefighting lobbies and carpark and loading bays, and the full balance and commissioning of the air distribution system. Additionally, we were tasked with the role of lead coordinator for the building services.

“Hotchkiss were far the best M&E contractor on the project. They took the responsibility of lead coordinator and carried out an excellent job. Canary Wharf prefers specialist trade contracts and Hotchkiss are well suited to working this way”
