Bankside Building 1

This 13 storey building, with three basement levels and two levels of roof plant, is situated alongside the Tate Modern Gallery. Bankside Building 1 is the first of four buildings due to occupy the site in Southwark Street.
Hotchkiss, as services lead co-ordinators, have been responsible for the Shell & Core air systems which included the supply, installation and commissioning of these systems including the associated air handling plant and extract fans located in the basements, ground floor and roof plantrooms. The largest of these capable of delivering 26 cubic metres per second of conditioned air was 18m long, 8m wide and 3m high, weighing 40 tonne and delivered in ten sections for site assembly on the roof.
The basement and ground floor systems, which included BW11 fire rated smoke ductwork, were also manufactured, installed and commissioned by Hotchkiss.
